Description
This fruit is the national symbol of India. Asian apple or Mangifera indica.
Mango is cultivated in India, Thailand, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain, Pakistan and other countries with hot climates. Ripe fruits of green, yellow, purple and even black colors are distributed all over the world. There are about 300 species of mango in the world, just over 35 varieties are cultivated - hence the variety of colors. This makes it difficult to determine the ripeness of the fruit because, for example, a green mango may be riper than an orange one. However, there are still ways to navigate ripeness: in the area of the stalk, the fruit should emit a pleasant fruity smell, and when pressed it should be elastic. The mango skin should be smooth and shiny.
