Add rice to boiling water (the ratio of water to rice is 2:1). Stir the rice once. Reduce the heat to just below medium and close the pan. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the rice has absorbed all the water. Leave for another 10 minutes so that the grains swell and separate one from the other.
